hey guys i just have a couple questions about when i decide to swap motors. I'm planning on swapping a 2nd gen 3sgte into my gts, and was wondering can i use a tvis intake manifold with a side mounted intake instead of center mount as long as i go front mount intercooler? I wanted to change from top mount to front for the IC so I could use a different intake manifold. will this work? and also will i have to use the entire wiring harness, ecu, etc from the new motor? and i will be using a 3sfe tranny, since i've read on here that it's better for the turbo swaps.

    Other things to think about.

Most replacement engines don't come with the AFM. I know 1 guy that is running a 162 GTS AFM on his second gen ST185 3SGTE engine and he says it works fine but I have not personally witnessed it.

You will probably want to upgrade the radiator. ASI has a nice Aluminum one for the ST185. Since you are putting a FMIC on you will be hindering the airflow to the rad.

You will need either an All Trac or a 3sfe starter, the GTS starter is different.

The wiring harness may not come with all the fuse boxes so you may need them as well.
