Hi everyone. I have thinking to buy new rims to my celica for 1 week now. Have founded good looking ones but the problem is, will they fit in. Rims are 9x16 et30 Are those too wide?
way too wide. it might fit if you have coilovers, but otherwise, they hit the strut housings cups. here's 17x9 et22 with 215/45/17, he has coilovers, but obviously he also needed to roll the lip, and stretch that tire and if you have stock suspension:
Thanks guys! Yea, i have stock suspension in it. Tested newer celica's wheels (7½x16 205/55) and they may work, if i get lower profile tyres.
the newer celica is actually 16x6.5. i have them and it fits with 205/50/16 tires, although i rub if i'm taking corners like a madman. but normal everyday driving i don't rub at all
to stay on topic lol...will a 205/40/17 rim/tire combo work with no rub? (my car is slightly lowered)
you will rub in the front, i ran those same sizes, i had to roll the front, i was lowered 2 inches. the back will be fine unless your running spacers then you your limited to 25mm which is a perfect stance anyways but you couldn't run any bigger without rolling the fenders
205/40/17 is roughly the same as my old car's 205/45/16. i had zero rub with 205/45/16, but at +39 offset, when i add a 25mm spacer, i rub the rear fenders. i'd say 20mm spacer makes sure that nothing gets scraped.
he said he was slightly lowered, i ran the same size except +42 offset, i rubbed in the front, didnt rub at all in the back even with the 25mm spacers. only the front will rub.
yeh if i had +42 then i wouldn't rub either with 25mm spacers, but being +39 it's probably the different to having me rub.
Will i have any problems running a 16x7.5 rim with a low pro tire? (My car is slightly lowered in the front)
