Got this squeaking that just started, it is coming from the left front when i let the clutch out to start going from the pressure, when driving smooth no noise but if i throw it down a gear quick you hear the squeak for a quick second or two. I didnt put any bushings on yet so i suppose everything is stock and old. Where do you think i should start. Help would be appreciated Thanks (I want to stiffen it up a bit could someone supply me with a list of all the bushings i will need and what sites to get them I got a st162 vert)
You need to be more specific Sounds like you isolated the LH suspension for some reason. Does it only squeak when moving? Standing still and out of gear does it squeak when you let the clutch in/out? Sure it's not a loose mounting or exhaust?, something rubbing? Does it squeak on bumps? Suspension rebuild notes/prices/pn's - http://st162.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=7425
i read that title sooo wrong... tell the bitch to shut up!!! and your pulling out for a reason. :hehe
when it first started it was only when you would pull out immediatly after you let the clutch out to go, now it is starting to do it when i go to back up only when the car first moves and now over some bumps when turning diff directions one way or the other. But when the car is still and you bounce it up and down there is no noise. What ever it is i am going to have to do something soon becuz it is getting worse with every day but still drives fine just noisy. also when you grab a gear fast you hear it for a second.
Get it on tresles, Start by pulling the wheels off Check all the suspension and chassis bolts, sounds like something loose, don't forget the 3 shock top nuts and the shock top nuts (hidden by a plug) in the engine bay. Also check all (4) of your engine mounts for wear and the bushes on your suspension I had a similar thing lately after rebuilding my motor. I have new bushes etc so I knew it wasn't that but I did find some of the crossmember and the rear mount were loose.
looked at the motor mounts more closely and seen that the front one was completely ripped. So i got the front rear kit poly mounts. dropping the crossmember was easy, so was putting in the mounts, the hard was getting it all lined up becuz the new mounts centers are off center (had to check and move like 3 times) but now that they are in it is like a brand new car, love them and the only vibration i have is right when i start it then after you cant even tell that they are poly
