[IMG][IMG]Hey guys. So my speedometer has quit working on for the 3 time. First time one of the little tabs broke off the pin on one side, second time it broke.off of the other side. Realized the gear was a bit sticky feeling and wanting to lock up. And now a 3r d time. I want to just get the new assembly completely. But I have no clue where to buy? Or what the options even are for them? Right now its in my Halftrac. I have the 91 v6 Camry transmission. Looks something like this, the smallest sensor/gear in the pic.

The official names, part numbers, and prices are as follows:

    1. 33403-19406 Gear sub-assembly, speedometer $29.67
    2. 83798-17010 Key, speedometer adaptor $9.95
    3. 33404-17010 Sleeve sub-assembly
    4. 83770-17020 Adaptor assembly, speedometer $94.17
    5. 83798-20020 Key, speedometer adaptor (DO NOT NEED IF NO CRUISE CONTROL)
    6. 88261-20070 Sensor, speed cruise $121.92 (DO NOT NEED IF NO CRUISE CONTROL)

Step 13: To take it apart, first remove the G-shaped clip that holds "A" into "C." Slide "A" out and "B" should fall out with it. Next pull "C" and "D" apart, twisting as you pull will make it easier. Use a crescent wrench or channel locks to loosen the nut that attaches "F" to "D." Some PB blaster or brake cleaner may be helpful here. Don't use the tab on "D" as a gripping point, the assembly is apparently made of pot metal and is very weak. I sheared it off doing this. Once "D" and "F" are separated, key "E" should simply fall out.

MR2 and Camry V6 should be the same E153 trans.

mine had all the keys broken. surprisingly they were still available from toyota. I just took out the gear assembly and lubed it up, spun it by hand while adding grease and eventually it was nice and smooth.

Yeah the taps on the pin keep snapping on mine. That little junk spins nice and free one way, but starts locking up the other. I tried spraying tuns of brake cleaner thru it, than lubing it up. I just need a new or better one. Keeps doing it to me.
