hey when my alternator portion of my crank pulley got loose and was moving around i started hearing a type of metallic whirling (i guess that kinda describes it) at the higher rpm 3500 and up but not always there. sounds scary as shit, eventually that part of the pulley flew off and i replaced the whole pulley (thanks schmoot :)) and i noticed the sound is still there so im scared to drive normally ;x any ideas? bushings or something

i also have 80 145 weight gear oil in my tranny and a bad axle what kinda sounds could that cause, its from teh bad axle side so im thinking thats possible. if i need a rebuild im saying screw it ;p

the bearing on your tensioner could be making the whirring noise.....or your axle

haha if you could get it down here we could do it in my shop class...but that would require driving it at 90+ for 2-3 hours....
