So when my car finnaly gave out it didnt really make a loud noise or bang just lost power an started ticking louder...now before it lost power it had a constant tic that would be real bad on start up an while running it would tic but have sweet spots when it wouldnt...the engine failure happend when i dropped gears goin up hill...so question one would be, without tearing into it (cars currently on the other side of the state) if i can get a good deal on a compleat FE head would it be fair to say its something wrong with that an would prolly need to be replaced?

Question two...when my car was runnin the oil gauge always rode pretty low on the gauge just above the very L mark...about the week leading up to failure it spent most its time right below the line an then the few 100 feet the car was runnin after failuer it was basicly zero'd out...the whole time i had good oil leval so would it be a good asestment that i need a new oil pump?

NEVER DRIVE A MOTOR THAT IS TICKING!
NEVER DRIVE A MOTOR WITH LITTLE TO NO OIL PRESSURE!

Your bearings wore out, that is why you lost pressure, your motor seized and the head is fine.

Replace the crank, bearings, rods and oil pump

this is how I modded my gauges to prevent anyone from stuffing my motor
