No- there is a EGR tubing- and someone used way to much gasket maker- you better clean that up before instaling the head again- dont want that silicone to clog a passage!!

How'd you polish your valve covers like that? What did you use?

ST165 did it for me, I bought them to replace my cracked ones. You should see the engine bay now, I also polished the heat shield and gleaned more grime out.

50 grit sandpaper (may not be required depending on how bad the metal is to start with)
100 grit sandpaper (may not be required depending on how bad the metal is to start with)
200 grit sandpaper (may not be required depending on how bad the metal is to start with)
    400 grit sandpaper
    600 grit sandpaper
    1000 grit sandpaper (wet)

Then some good aluminum polish. You could also buff it with various buffing compounds before useing the aluminum polish.

Same idea for 4th gen GTS wheels, their not quite finished yet but getting close. For wheels I start with 50 grit cause they have a bumpy finish to start with and their is some sort of factory clear coat or something on them that you have to get rid of.
