and this is what i've come up with for a trans for Nemesis fe 1: 3.29:1 2: 2.04:1 3: 1.32:1 4: 1.03:1 5: 0.82:1 Final: 4.18:1 gts 1: 3.29:1 2: 2.04:1 3: 1.32:1 4: 1.03:1 5: 0.82:1 Final: 3.74:1 at 1: 3.58:1 2: 2.05:1 3: 1.33:1 4: 0.97:1 5: 0.73:1 Final: 4.29:1 mr2 na 1: 3.285:1 2: 1.960:1 3: 1.322:1 4: 1.028:1 5: 0.820:1 Final: 4.176 mr2t 1: 3.23:1 2: 1.91:1 3: 1.32:1 4: 0.92:1 5: 0.73:1 Final: 4.29:1 willie trans config mabye fe final drive 4.18 :1 1fe 3.29 :1 2at 165 2.05 :1 3at 165 1.33 :1 4fe 1.03 :1 5at 165 0.73 :1 now eric is going to check and see if we can actually swap the gears accordingly. i certainly hope so. the only gear i would like to have is mr2t first gear but that's not going to happen. worst case i may have to get a mr2t trans and go from there but i hope not. so this gear set coupled with a helical LSD should work out great. anyone who has a better/different idea please chime in.
on 2nd and 3rd, yes it will make them longer. and with that 5th gear i should top 170mph before redline i think.
Are you sure on the ratios? Maybe aussie ones are different but 3sge ST162's here got a 4.176 final drive ratio whilst 3SFE cars got a 3.7xx ratio, both are S53 gearboxes, NA MR2's got a 4.176 S54 (we got the 3SGE version) whilst all 5SFE's got a 3.944 S54 gearbox. I have all the gear ratios written down somewhere, but from memory most of the ratios are the same its just the final drive ratio that varies due to a single tooth change either way from 3.944 on the crownwheel or pinion, I forget which.
depends on trans, ge trans have less rpm to MPH while the fe trans has more rpm/mph. alltrac trans is the oddball due to the AWD.
Well, I remember in my GT with a 2SE 110mph was getting near redline, and it uses the same tranny as the FE. Haven't gone that fast in my GTS yet, but 95mph is somewhere in the 5k range, iirc.
what?!?!? that can't be right. top speed on the fe trans with a 6400 rpm redline is 145. i KNOW the ge trans will go much farther past that.
i could be totally wrong but i think some people are talking in miles per hour and others are talking in kilometers per hour which would screw this whole conversation up... at least thats what it looks like to an innocent bystander lol.
It's been a while since I did a speed run in my GT-S, so more than likely I am remembering the RPMs wrong. Mike, I was in 4th going 95, but still, probably not remembering revs clearly.
Wouldn't the gts final give you longer gearing? this shows you speeds vs your gears and rpms. Maybe this will help you more http://www.f-body.org/gears/
Well I think I need an FE box in my race car then - that would give higher revs at a lower speed, and better acceleration right? Hmm now to calculate the difference and see if I will be hitting the fuel cut or not.
