Guys i have a problem with the 3sgte.

Been trying to sort out why she is smoking through the exhaust. I have a brand new turbo which has done no miles at all just been started on the drive. New valve seals, head gasket.
From cold start their is no smoke at all but has she warms up and i blip the throttle up to around 2000rpm it starts to smoke, back to idle no smoke. I took the exhaust elbow off the back of the turbo and their is no oil present or in the cold side. I did notice a trace of oil in the inlet manifold but nothing at all through the throttle body which is totally dry and clean. Done a comp test which all 4 read fine up to 164 psi the lowest was 160 psi. Maybe i should now do a leak down test which i don't have so will have to get one.

Any help welcome i would love to just drive this car for a change lol.

Well, to start with all 3s-gte's use some oil and smoke on good usage :) But it can also be overfuelling and running extremely rich causing fuel as well. Did you allready remove all egr shit and replace it with a descent oil catch can system? Otherwise that might be a thing too look at.

I do have a catch can but it's just a cheap one off ebay with only a small inlet and outlet about 1/4"
Took the can off to see if it would make a difference and it did less smoke,

OK after this morning this is what is happening. On tick over from cold their is no smoke then for a few minuets about 5 their is no smoke .When i pull off i get a puff of smoke then it's gone back to tick over nothing then pull off again i get the puff of smoke . It seems to be getting better the more i run her. I am wondering if it's burning the oil off that got in the inlet when the valve seals gave up the ghost has one of them was like this.
