Are there any shift knobs that will screw on to the stock shift lever? Maybe a newer toyota one?

Get an aftermarket one that has allen key bolts for it.....I've never had a problem with my momo knob....

well, i already have a momo knob at home, but the damn thing makes the shifter too long. I was hoping that another screw-on knob like the factory one would sit lower, like the stock one.

i've pondered doing that. I did it to my last car too. I am doing my best to not get the mod bug and spend too much money on this beater/dd. :D

There is a few screw on TRD ones on ebay. Though they are expensive, but i did see another one which was $17 AUD not long ago.
