Good news , finally after about 3 years i have a new bottle of welding gas! about time, the only problem is my optrel helmet that i had which was worth over 200euro is broke, so i had to buy a new one, i went for one of these on amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000ZI2528/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 it was down from £242 which is nearly €300 so i think i got myself a bargain, i dont really like to use cheap auto setting helmets because its your eyes you have to think of so im glad with this one! should do the trick.

Its my new Draper welding mask, all i can say is WOW! its soooo comfy compared to my other one! and looks the bee's knees! Thanks for the info bud! ill just rebuild what i have! is it ok if i get that money to you Wednesday? I live in Abbeyknockmoy and Tuam is pronounced CHOOM!!! fastest town in Ireland ...
So, i removed the tank today, thank god, it will mean i can do all my welding on the front of the car so this is what i did when removing the tank i started by removing the back seat Then i removed the cover over the fuel senfer and from there i removed the fuel sender. It was just 5 scews into the tank, easy to remove I then removed the straps holding on the tank in place and disconnected the petrol pipes going to the pump in the tank and the tank could then be removed. and when i checked under the car were the tank was there was no rust ( SCORE!!! ) I then said id just removed the two front shocks, i started by taking off the abs sensor wires which i an removing anyway so it didnt matter To remove the shocks i toke off the clips which were holding in the brake lines onto the shocks and removed the three top bolts holding in my shocks and the shocks can then be removed Thats all i did for today, ill try and do more tomorrow
making some good progress there. damn you have a lot of rust on everything... is that rust on top of the tank?
You have to remember there was nearly 2 years were i did nothing... AT ALL! so dont worry Its all surface rust, ill be getting it all cleaned down and painted anyway!
what i'm amazed at is the amount of rust on the brake line holder on the strut. damn! i hope no aches or pains developed from the gas tank removal...cuz the first time i did it, it was a painful 3 hours lol
New Compressor! Thats right guys, BIG TOOL! love getting big presents... ordered this last week and was expecting it sooner but its here now. just need to get the airlines and what not but im quiet happy with it... And now its gone into its resting place, its quieter that i thought it would be.. its a 3HP, 200ltr, 14cfm displacement so i shouldnt have any trouble running air tools and doing a bit of spray painting. LET THE WORK COMMENCE!
Fark - did you win lotto? Nice tools, nice job - glad I don't live in UK. My old man's Vauxhall had the brake calipers rusted solid, the rear subframe rusted away and the dash heater rusted away
