Ok well Jeffs GTS is running rough at idle. But when you rev it its fine. It drives like a bat out of hell. But when it gets down to idle it wants to die. So we changed out the sparkplugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, dizzy, and fuel filter. Still the same no different. So I decided to poke my head around and check for vaccum leaks. There wasn't any but a hissing sound from behind the intake manifold. My Diagnosis after doing all of this and checking for leaks is. He has a bigger leak than just a vacuum line. I think he has a blown intake manifold gasket. What do you guys think.
vacuum is a common problem///spray some wd-40 or what not down near the leak and see if that changes anything.
Check the breather tube running from the valve cover to the i/m-, Also Thier is a adjustment screw on the top of the manifold- flat head screw driver will do the trick- dont over due the turning of the screw- Its good to have someone in the car while doing this- they can scream at you when you 785 RPMs...
No I checked the power steering. I have had that happen to me. I checked every line they are all there. The idler screw does nothing. I reallly think its an intake manifold gasket. The engine has 264k on it.
264K- WOW- I/M gaske is pretty easy- 6 nuts i think- just pull it off the screws just enough to ge the gasket on and off- 15 mins if that!!! While your doing that change the T/B gasket !!
or at 2000 for stereo comps ya if the screw does nothing there has to be a bad leak. im makes sence ;p
