You just have to move it back and forth gently until it lets go (I don't know how you call that kind of fastening).

Push down on the lower part of the arm with the wiper blade still on the glass, just below the hinged section, flexing the spring. Should create enough torque to cause it to pop. Just push hard enough to feel a moderate tension on the spring. You may have to do it in a repetitive style kinda quickly to get it to break free...

    Kinda like CPR...

No laughing Nate, it's one of those 'simple' yet not so simple jobs, especially if one hasn't done it before. It's always easy when one knows how :ewink

Lion and Rick are onto it and I think he's talking about a 'rocking' motion 'left hand - right hand' which is what I use. I always put a small spray of WD-70 on first and let it sit.

Over the years I have treated this job the same way, whether it be front or back............... put down heaps of protection on the paint etc...., and start manhandling it as Rick said, if I think it's feeling a tad 'tight' I will use a decent size flat screwdriver to 'lever' it off as a mate is rock'n the wiper. Job done :cheers

Yup, and as a last resort and to minimise damage, buy one of these for peanuts, it's a Windshield Wiper Arm Removal Tool, or ask/drive around and see if you can borrow a 'pitman arm' puller for 30 seconds from a mechanic, job done

Whoa - nuthin like a bit of brute force with these guys!

All you got to do is loosen the nut (don't remove it)
Lift the wiper to the upward position, then lever it L-R and front back (gently) till it comes loose.
Once loose you can undo the nut and lift off the arm without destroying your bodywork and wiper motor

put a vicegrips on it and pull it left and right from the base
