I just purchased a "new" 1987 Celica GT Convertible with 56,000 original miles in excellent condition that has a few minor problems. What are the steps that you take to install a new rear window? Is this a do-it-yourself job or must I call a top installer? Thanks, Howard

These are a PITA to R&I... Just get yourself a new top... about the same price labor wise, but you can do this at home with just basic tools if you do the whole top, whereas the window has to be done by an upholstery shop due to sewing the lower section to the top itself...

Here's the one I bought for mine awhile back... Never got the chance to install it, still have it sitting in the box in the shop...

Eh it's not bad, I did it in an afternoon. You'll need a rivit gun and make sure you don't break ANY mounting studs back there. The manual is here, you want to look at "Section 11 Backlite Assembly" it's at the beginning of the thread :cheers
