i have a piece of the rear hatch that is coming off. the part on the driver side that is connected to the bottom part. it keeps coming up like it is missing a clip. i check underneath and there is 2 holes that look like something that should be there. i will for sure take a picture of it later. but i was really wondering if the trim can be purchased from toyota or if i am missing the clip that i can steal from a donor car. thanks guys!
they do... but its expensive as fuck.. you're looking at 100 bucks for one piece of trim and clips...
holy moses! that is freaking unbelievable! yay saturday or sunday will be for the junk yard. :assault: :muffy: lzdie:
so i went to the wreckers today and i checked out the trim. could only find earlier model gt's and 1 gt-s. so i got the trim for a buck, they had a sale. it worked out better than the one on there. but when putting it back on i snapped half of te clip for the bottom piece of trim by the wiper arm. turns out the bottom piece was the one with the problem. it wouldnt sit in the clip. so i pressed it back in and snapped a piece of it. now i need to go back and jack a clip. anyone know how to put the bottom trim back in the driver side clip without breaking it?
Very carefully. My GT had the same issue, I managed to get it all back together no problem...about 2 days before it was totalled, lol. You just have to be realll careful with it, and make sure you line everything up.

Very carefully is good advice however the correct procedure is For piece 75575A These pieces are a one shot deal. A single clip is hard to replace but luckilly for you it is an end one. You need to remove the clip from the hatch frame(do this by squeezing the 2 bottom tabs together and pushing up out of the hole). Once the clip is removed you can slide it properly into the channel in the trim. Slide it along the trim until it matches up with the hole in the hatch. Press the trim & clip into place. Had it not been an end clip you would have had to remove all 7 clips. Basically the clips must be installed in the trim piece before it is attached to the car.
just seen this post, I think I can still get the clips cheaper from uk dearlers than you guys, will get prices, as I replacing a couple clips at mo.
got the clip i needed for free from junk yard. they didnt care. also i got my trim piece for 1.00 which helped immensely. my trim was way bent. wouldnt stay down. the bottom part still needs to be secured. but it is not popping up anymore. good times!
