Hi guys, noob celica owner here from the Philippines. I've been modifying cars for a long time but I've been involved in the honda scene more so I'm not familiar with a lot of the toyota chassis. I hope I can learn from you guys so I can do our build the right way. This car is a recent purchase of my dad he bought it because the st162 is a rare car here in our country. Thus also making it hard for us to source parts. I need help identifying the brands of parts currently installed in our car cause some of them are already aftermarket. As always with all of our builds, we always go for function FIRST. So here goes.

This was taken last week. this is the condition of the car when we got it.

As you can see here we immediately took the car apart and started all the bodywork and painting. Took this 3 days ago.

The paint dried up this morning the only thing left to do is to sand and buff the car for the finish. As you have probably seen, this is a garage build. The dry and hot climate here in the philippines makes for a faster process of painting and curing. This photo was taken this morning. We purchased new wheels and tires for the car. Knowing that this car would have it's fair share of track time we decided to go with the cheaper 17x7 Rotas(prodrive copies) shrod in dunlop lm's.

So there's the first part of our build. If some of you can identify what kind of bumpers and sideskirts are installed we'd really appreciate it. I also have to ask, are the suspension components of the celica st162 same as the ST caldinas and coronas? Because there are a lot of aftermarket support for those cars here maybe i'll have an easier time looking for parts if these were confirmed.

We are currently on the hunt for:
    Coilovers
    Rear disks
    OE bumpers
    OE sidemirrors

We've already sourced out engines, we're just deciding between a 3sgte and a 3rd gen 3s-ge. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks! :D

kamusta! where are you at in the phils? i was born there but them i moved. anyways, you may have the only alive 4th gen celica in the philippines lol.

There are 2 different OEM side mirrors. The USDM one is non foldable, JDM is foldable. I have the USDM one selling cheaply, not sure how shipping would be from canada.

For suspension, have you seen these? http://www.ebay.ca/itm/COILOVER-Toyota- ... 0214wt_952
Corona's are 5x100 and some have rear drums, some rear disk?? Not sure about the disk part. All GT-S, GT-R, SX (basically the highest trim) had 5x100 and 4 wheel disks as well. There was no 4x100 disk as far as I know.

Yes, GT4 (called alltrac in the US/Canada) are the only turbo/awd versions of it

Welcome to the site! Nice project car, congrats to it!

The others already answered most of your question, I just want to add to go and explore the site, you can find a lot information of aftermarket mods, and several of us are selling a bunch of parts too, if you need anything else.

Sadly I think you'll have problems with OE bumpers since you said the car is rare in your area, and they are quite big and heavy so shipping could be horror. But I'm quite sure someone will jump on your bumpers if you sell them :)

Please post a pic of your engine plate - Oxi will then tell you when/where it was made.
I suspect it's an ex-Australian or Malasian car, need to see the motor and speedo 1st.

The kit is a custom conversion, never seen it before.

Your best bet is to watch ebay in Australia, plenty of spares there and plenty of stuff available
    on this site

Nice find, the more you read the more you'll enjoy this site

hello again celica gurus, I just wanted to ask if these would fit, they're from a 93 supra. If they would fit with a little modification then i'm willing to take the gamble.

no they wont fit at all... the hub connections are completely differnt, dont take the gamble becasue you will have spent twice as much as buying different ones to make them fit

You'd have to cut them up and weld the threads to your shocks, then you could use the springs and tops.
As they are I think the lengths are different as well.

Many Toyotas share shock parts, closest is the Camry, Corona ST190 etc but even then they have different springs, tops etc.
It's a matter of stripping and finding the right bits or just build your own coilovers.

I have TEMS so my only option is to convert to coilovers if I want to upgrade the suspension

those coilovers won't work at all.

the body kit you have is quite rare and unique. i'd keep it.
the repaint came out quite well. nice job! should look great all done.

They were 90-93 (FWD only) Celica Megan coilovers.
The fronts bolted in, but the rears required a hole to be drilled.
