I am wondering if my fuel pump is going out.

the car runs great once started but its hard to start and will sometimes die out (after started) once i give it gas.

    Things I have done recently.

Installed new timing belt (mabey the timing could cause this?)
Changed oil (it did this before i changed the oil)
changed plugs (didnt do this before changing plugs but changed plugs with timing belt)
Installed new water pump (done with timing belt)
Installed new fuel sending unit(this was done this morning and havent really done any testing on it as it works *the gauge actually tells me the fuel level* and I just drove to work after installing it and the car started fine that time)

I would think that if it was the fuel pump it would chug when i step on the excellerator.

I dunno lol any ideas much appreciated.

Check your idle air control valve...They tend to build carbon and make cold starting a task...Remove it and spray it out with carb cleaner...

I have a haynes as well i can look @ it (forgot about that).

I will check those. and that would make more sense ATM then the cold start (altho im sure on a 20 year old car they could both use a replacement)
