I been thinking of ways to secure my car.

It's an 88 Celica convertible, manual transmission.

I'm interested in ways to secure my car asap (e.g. purchasing a club), and more involved (e.g. installing a gas cut switch).

What would give you confidence walking away from your car?

    Thanks

take everything out, keep your insurance in the trunk and leave the glovebox etc open with the doors unlocked.

and get a cutoff switch and removeable steering wheel.

you know that fan control switch that doesn't work...everybody has one usually the lowest setting or one up from that. Well solder wires onto the back of that switch and run it to a starter kill relay in the engine bay. I can leave my car unlocked and never worry about anyone driving away with it. It's all in clever hiding. Thats what I did on my winter beater corolla. The tercel has an alarm with a starter kill. My celi has a 2-way alarm with a starter kill as well. I haven't had a car stolen since I started taking the starter kill steps 5 years ago
