    ABOUT ME:
I'm from Grand Rapids, MI and work for a Toyota Dealer here. I've owned, modified, and raced cars since I was 15 years old and I am actually a HUGE Honda guy. Let the hating begin.:crying I've built a couple Accords and numerous Civics, and I've also owned a Subaru SVX, Audi A4 all "stanced" out, big boost VW Passat, but all that finally brought me to this 1986 Toyota Celica, my new BIG project.:reddevil

    History Of The Car
The car has had 3 owners, the original owner bought it in 1986 as his "summer" car, or weekend ride. This beaut hasn't ever seen a winter and has been garaged most of its life. The original owner brought it in to the Toyota dealership in Chicago, IL for a service and was considering trading it in and purchasing a newer car. While there the Technician working on his car became interested and bought the car from him. After buying it he had the cars body restored and repainted the tri-tone color scheme it is now. He also installed Tokico shocks with B&G lowering springs, and Drag 15x8.5" wheels, and a new stereo, kicker subwoofer, and NRG shift knob. After selling my big boosted and built Passat in IN I drove to Chicago and picked up the Celi with 94,000 original miles on it, CLEAN inside and out with no mechanical issues whatsoever, drove it all the way home with no issues at all and on $20 in gas.:hsdance

Welcome Aboard, I have an '86 GT also, however mine is completely stripped and awaiting resto-mod to build a race ready Performance Touring machine. I'm going with 1st gen 3SGE although in JDM version. I'm currently building an '87 GTS as my Test Mule for everything that's eventually going to end up in the '86. The GT will one day be a replica of the IMSA GTO Celica raced by All American Racers in the late 80s.

Keep us updated on your car and it's progress, mine has been slow, but progress non the less!

honestly why would you go custom on the spoiler, the stock one is great, nice and low and flows nicely.......and if you can soruce them, try finding the outside block mirror plates from here in the states for your passenger side and from aussyland for your drivers side..
(which is their passenger side)........makes it look cleaner than stock. this is my plan when im ready for it.

other than that looks clean...where are you getting your flares from >?

Im not a fan of the factory spoiler, I think it looks to gaudy. Just my opinion. Im going custom because I want something really flush to the rear end, and small. If not Id just keep it wingless.

Thanks for the info on the mirror plates, I'll start looking.

The reason I don't mind going custom is because I have the materials and have friends here who are engineers in aerodynamics for Toyota and Nissan. So I can get the look I want, and still have it be somewhat functional.

The carbon flares are being made by my buddy at his shop as we speak.

Great looking car  Is the paint two-tone, is that just a trick of the light in your pictures?

Clean car man. What's the offset on your rims and did you have to roll your fenders?
