So I was thinking I would paint the "Celica" above the grille by just filling in the letters with black since my car is black. What do you guys think? Do you think it would look good?

i just painted it all. taking the time to tape around the letters would be a pain.

imo it looks bad (sorry nate, i shouldnt say bad...but bland). i tried all the combos. eyelids painted, center stock, ect, ect. i finally figured out that with the jdm corners that whole strip is made to wrap the front. if you paint it i think it makes the nose even more narrow. the strip also breaks up the black and gives a more finished look. if all is correct i think unpainted it looks the best. there are 2 types of lettering that are slightly different colors btw.

-im rolling around some ideas on ways to break up the semi-gloss on mine a bit. keep it from looking so monotone. visually it made a big difference to have the correct stock grille. the small details make a huge difference on this car.

-i htink the last page of my thread shows correct/complete w/ jdm corners.

-ive been thinking about doing it 2-tone, just like a standard 2 tone car w/ pin stripe. w/ gloss black top half and keeping the lower part semi. then maybe gloss black or gold wheels. i think i can get it done cheap as i dont need body work and i still havent even waxed it.

-i think it may make the body line stand out more.

like this...just gloss black top and semi gloss (same as it is) lower.

-pre-face w/ jdm is best me thinks too.
