It's not really bad at this point, but y'know
Yep, the stock on is there.

From my research, it seems like Whitline, Tanabe, or Cusco. Cusco seeming being the less expensive.

yup, read that the other day. Sounds like strut bars, endlinks and a cage will help the most.

actually being convertable, strut bars and bushings would be your best bet.

I just installed F&R bars on my GTS hatch and they made a noticeable difference in the stiffness of the car - the hatch doesn't rattle anymore and the sunroof and dash stopped squeaking. I've installed bars in other cars I've owned and in each case it has helped. With your convertible, anything will help so I say go for it.

I may have an extra Whiteline front bar for sale soon, it will require some mods (long story) but I'll let it go cheap if I can. I'll let you know what happens if you're interested.

The strut bar is doable. Looks like it just bolts on.

I see that I (we) can get poly bushings in full kits, or packages. Any brand reccommendatios? I doubt the last owner replaced the bushings so most likely they are original still. I suppose the whole poly set is needed, I can't really tell from looking.

I read your thread which was the one that got me thinking about my shimmy issue. I didn't want to hijack yours, so I started this one.

So, why did you have to modify the bar you bought? Sounds like the part quite car specific. I just want to bolt the sucker on y'know?

I didn't have to mod my bar, but it took them 6 months to sort out their problem with mis-labeling the boxes and get me the right part. They kept sending me bars that had the correct part number but they either had the wrong mounting brackets or the wrong cross bar. I still have the one with the correct brackets but a too long bar and they're not returning my emails about shipping it back to them. If they wait too long, I'll sell it. The bar is flat, not lifted like in my pictures, which will work fine for any non-turbo models, and the bar is about 1.5 inches too long. With some trimming and a set of narrower lock nuts, I'm sure it will fit just fine.

Thanks, I think I'm leaning towards the cusco 152-510A.

89, ive had a convertible for years and no shimmy like you describe ive had that thing wrapping around corners at 75 and not a whole lot of flexing, yes it can benifit from strut bars and the sub frame connectors, but you might want to try finding out what is causing your shimmying before you slap that stuff in it.

    Thanks guys.

I've had people look at it, but they say everything is fine.

Maybe something was overlooked and something's loose or I just need new bushings. I've asked other people on boards, but no one has really been all that helpful except you guys.
