Umm..ya, theres no port opening or bung for a o2 sensor..So how i do we do this one?..Go to a universal and weld in a bung? or plasma cut the original mount off the 1st gen and weld that onto the 2nd gen mani? i really dont wanna mess with the wiring crap of installing a new o2, expecially since i just bought a new one like a month ago.

If there is no port in the manifold, then it would need to be added to the downpipe.

my o2 sensor is in the downpipe, near the firewall, and my EGR is where the o2 sensor would usually go...wtf man

I'm not sure what the problem is then? Do you have two 02 sensors?

Re-read the post. That is fine. That is actually how most of my older cars were setup. As long as the O2 is before the cat it should be fine.

Need to get Mafix to chime in here. Just keep in Mind instead of getting a reading off of 1 runner from 1 cylinder you are getting a collective reading from all of the cylinders.

For a more accurate reading you need add an O2 bung to the manifold along #3 runner? I think that is the leanest cylinder in the flow. Could be wrong here though.

86-87 engines/manifold have the 02 sensor on the manifold.
88-89 has it behind the engine just before the flex pipe. So regardless of jdm or usdm if your manifold is 88-89 than you will have to get underneath the car to see the sensor

didn't we discuss this. your's is plain f'ed up. i wonder if you have a JDM head with a USDM manifold.

so a USDM intake manifold and JDM exhaust? That was one of my theories. Its just boggling my mind. I guess its possible that someone swapped the block while leaving the headers and reusing the intake manifold? I know we discussed it but he seemed to know something I didnt about the differinces in models :

no usdm intake manifold and jdm head. do me a favor, remove the valve cover and take a picture of the cylinder head.

its silicone gasket. the problem is tha tif I take that shit off it aint going back on lol. and no I cant put a regular gasketon becase my valve cover has a crack that cant get torqued down, but silicone gaskets dont need torquing much so its being used

check out Talithas JDM, looks like she had to add the O2 sensor on the downpipe also.
