unbolt your wires to the starter and then reconnect them.

I'm going to get tools now and will try that.

And no sounds at all just everything normal it's just like if you don't push clutch down to start just nothing happens the clutch pedal switch maybe?

you could try to see if your pedal is touching that sensor

Actually tried hold switch with my finger and turning key and nothing so no switch I guess will prob bump start if I could push it faster. could maybe be part of the common Celica starter problem I always here about? Or would it still make noise?

You don't have to push clutch down to start? I do every time. How do you test that ?

Could have just been dirty connections. Replace your battery terminals and give the battery posts and all of the connections and grounds a really good clean with a wire brush and see how it goes.

have you done the relay mod? i havent had this problem since i did it

just do the relay mod. after driving, your starter motor warms up and since it's pretty much beside the exhaust manifold, it warms up quite a bit. when it gets warm, it requires more current flow from the STA signal to get the starter going (same principle as batteries not lasting as long in temperate countries vs colder climate). as a result, the wires can't supply this current = no start. however, the wires supply more than enough current to flick on a relay, that's why the relay mod is very useful. plus it costs $20+1 hour.
