Tomorrow, I am going to attempt to fit a "bling" gauges surround on the 165, will post up write up and pictures, I am hopping it will look good!

    Anyone done this before?

any tips on taking the cluster apart?

cluster is very simple to remove. just take your time and you'll be fine.

lets see...IIRC remove the drivers speaker grill. remove the lower dash cover (not out of the car but lowered so it is out of the way). remove the emer signal and defrost buttons, they just pull out. remove the 4 screws in the black plastic recess housing and remove it, it's a little tricky, just lower the steering wheel all the way down and it'll come out. remove the 4 screws holding the white plastic gauge housing and remove the housing, pull it straight to you the spin to the left. disconnect the harnesses, all 3. then remove the 4 screws holding the clear gauge cover. that should be it.

and if you happen to not have tilt....be careful not to crack the steering wheel column plastic.

Yeah its done!! Sorry bin mad busy, but was quite easy in the end. Thanks for tips. Used to messy speedo cables, so was pleasently pleased when i found it was just plug and go!

    Will post picture tonight!

just one pita, the dash surround does not have a cut out for main beam, so will have to take it out in the future, and drill hole to allow light to shine, otherwise I fail MOT test. Still only cost £8 of ebay so no compliants :D

Next project is extra dials for oil temps and intake temps moulded onto the steering column surround. And fit short shift with New gaitor, think the centre console have to come out for this!?

As its winter, doing lots of little interior jobs! :D

Where can I get white dial graphics? Indigo do a set for 162, but dont inculde a boost gauge!

oops forgot about that. well the stock boost gauge is utterly useless so switch to a GTS clutser.
