'89 GTS liftback. Pretty sure they're all the same between body style (liftback, coupe, etc).

How long are they from end --> end?

I have a set of inner and outer tie rods from a 90-93 GT/GTS. I know the outer tie rods will work, but I'd like to put the inner ones on as well.

Just had a look on my spare rack, from an 88 sx which is your gts

I get ~295mm from the edge of the ball to the end of the inner rod

new outer tie rod end is ~103mm from end to end

Bottom of boot to end ~54mm

    Hope this helps

    Awesome, that helps a lot!

I know the outer tie rods from a 90-93 GT/GTS will fit on my 89 GTS. This huge suspension ebay thing I purchased came with outer & inner tie rods. My driver wheel has some play in it I want to get rid of. When you say from the edge of the ball to the end of the inner rod, what about overall length (end to end)? Think you can happen to tell me the thread size & pitch on the ball side of the inner tie rod?

Thanks again, those pictures do help a lot.

Good stuff, I can try and get it out this weekend.

But I haven't taken an inner tie rod out before, I think i need to knock a pin out and then unscrew it?

Let me know, I'll do what I can :)

They should just unscrew judging by the looks of them.

    Hrm..

The ones I have are just over 12.5" long (318mm) from the ball to end (see picture attached). I'm wondering if the threads are the same, I should be able to use them even though they're a bit longer (1/2" longer).

Cool that's the same measurement I made end to end so you got that... Can you just wind the tie rod end up further to make up the difference, if the outer end threads long enough?

You need the Inner tie rod thread - where it goes into the rack yeah?
I guess count how many threads in 10mm? I'll check it out today

Don't worry about it. I ended up doing it over the weekend. I rented the tie rod tool and did it over the weekend.

Even though the inner tie rod is a bit longer, it still fit and I was able to self-align it (get my steering wheel straight) without any issues at all. I'm going to do the boots (I forgot to buy new boots) next weekend and then I'll get a full alignment done on it.

Just in case anyone is curious, here is a comparison of the original stock ST162 inner/outer tie rods (presuming OEM, they look beat to shit) and the new DLZ from a 90-93 GT/GTS. They fit just fine, no problems with them (been in for about 2 weeks). Clicky clicky for grande picture.
