Will this Mod offer any gains on a N/A Motor?? And can it be done? Due to High Temps in California Im thinking this will be needed for road racing.
cooler oil is always better. Summit racing has a nice oil cooler kit. It has a adapter that goes between your filter and block.
actually oil work best between 200 and 220 degrees. you'll need a temp gauge before you decide on getting a cooler.
You sure thats a GTS diagram? I don't remember stripping that from Mafix's GTS, and I stripped the majority of the front end parts. I know my Alltrac has that. But I don't remember the GTS having it.
I can't see that being very hard to install on a non-alltrac though..and there's quite a few universal oil cooler's on ebay...
?! I don't have that on mine or any GTS that I've seen. In fact, I don't see that on any of my BGB's either. WTF is going on?! I'm puzzled...
thats the oem stuff from a epc, i have the exact setup ona 3 cars tha are lyin arround my back yard ::lol: i could make some pistures if somebody wants, if i evfer find my digital camera baterry recharger alltrac setup is completly different and looks like this
Yeah, no oil cooler on my 86 GTS. Weird. There's some tubing in front of the A/C condenser that looks like it might be part of it, but instead of going into a cooler, it just loops back around.
the oil needs to be at a certain temp to work properly, maybe the GT-S doesn't typically hot enough to require it.
well, i will DEFINITELY need one of those suckas, as i'm dropping my 3sge into my aw11. i wont have the fancy dancy air coming thru the front grill to cool that precious oil. custom mounting it is! oh, and there is NO WAY IN HELL i'm going to use the aw11 stock oil cooler setup. it uses a similar oil filter sandwich plate, and pipes it to an 'expansion' chamber which cradles the primary coolant pipe leading from the front radiator to the engine. mmm... nosir. i dont like it. hell, i'll just mount it by the side vent or near the transmission.
