Well I rear-ended a SUV back in September. I found a parts car in Missouri(9hrs from my house) in November. However he just started stripping the 89 of all damaged parts last month. Here is the progress me and my dad have made as of 03-04-13. Let's see if pics upload. White one is 88parts car, other is 89. Still runs just some front end damage.
How much are you stripping off the wrecked one? Could I pester you to cut some chassis parts off (namely north/south crossmember areas).
That is all we took off ourselves. We took it to body shop last wednesday and is still waiting to be given an estimate to take the rest of the parts that are bent or broken off. Im guessing the crossmember area was one of the pieces you saw bent or broken? Some bent parts were spot welded and i wasnt sure how to remove it without possibly damaging good parts. Which is the reason we decided to take it to the body shop.
