So it's raining and I thought let's make the 3sge a bit more compact in the small shed I have :).

If somebody needs parts of it, let me know your offer.

That's taken beginning of the month when also my car got re-valued for insurance. And yes, I broke through the 5 digit(Euro) area with it's value now :).

Wow thats a nice pic of the car mate.
I love how in the shine of the car you can see people looking at it and admiring how much of a decent car this is.
I have never seen a car this colour before and it is kinda growing on me.

Congrats on making the 5digit mark for insurance.
Mines been valued at agrred value of $6000aud and thats sight unseen.as long as my car is roadworthy

10000 euro = $12300 canadian. DAMN that's the price of basic new cars here!! i have to agree though, that picture of the car is just amazing. what can i say, the car's perfect: perfect body, oem kit, wheels that compliment the car, and a motor to kick ass. definitely worth the money.

how did they value the car when you told them it has a 3sgte in it?
(we have to lower the value of the car because it's a different engine, or we're going to raise the value of the car because it's a better engine, or they didn't care?)

Behind me is the (former) president of a belgium toyota club. And it's over 10K euro ;), but not much. They value the car for the obvious reasons, interior, exterior, OEM Accesoires, improvements, it is one of the last original ST162 in the netherlands and since I changed to the original 4th gen engine, that is more or less accepted and upgrading brakes etcetera helps as well. I tried to use OEM where ever possible, so it's no Fast&Furious look in/on/around my car.

Keeping the car as OEM as possible will always enhance your insurance and resale values!
I think all cars should be insured at replacement value which here is around $50 000+ for a new 2l 16V, I was dissapionted when I only got an insurance value of $20 000,
but they where quick to point out that's nearly double the value of the normal ST162's when new

that's pretty good, over here they go by book value, there's a given range of that. for example for st162 a high value is 3000 and the low value is 1000, no matter how perfect your car is, the max for it is 3000 :/....unless it's under collector status

I have an all-risk insurance on the car under club-insurance and a max of 5K km's per year. Furthermore, the car's new value in the netherlands is higher as in other countries due to our tax system.

Well, it's not that I want to sell the car so it only gives me some of the investment payback when caught in an accident, fire or whatever that would wreck the car. We all know we all put more money in our cars then we will get back for them.

received the white doormarkers from Stig this week so plastidipped the holders black and put 1 on. I dipped it because black won't stand out from the doorpanel of course :)

what do you guys think? I am doubting if white is my way to go...

I like the way the white ones light up the inside when you open a door at night.

You have both types, just swap them if you get tired of them

What I did was to screw the lenses to the holders, then carefully cut around the excess plastic to make it look factory

So today I took off the intercooler. I'm going to clean it with petrol (the core) and insulate the bottom with heat resistant foils. Also going to re-spray the heatshield and use the foil on the inside of that as well. Took off the heatshield of the alternator as it was quite rusted. Sanded it down and sprayed it but kinda forgot to really clear the de-greaser of it so have to re-spray it now. But I'm out of paint so it has to wait :).
Will also install my oil catch can otherwise the cleaning is for nothing.

No offence Roy - painting suxx, you end up with stuff tarnishing and peeling and end up having to do it all over.
For the few extra dollars powder coating is the way to go.
The secret to good powdercoating is to have a 2nd clear powder coat applied

Sounds like you found a nice job, have you thought of a bigger intercooler radiator?

Is that alu wrap self adhesive? where do you get it?

I never had complaints about painting these smaller parts before, just need to follow the correct procedure with the degreaser. :). Once the paint has been heated it becomes much harder as it's heat resistant paint that needs this heating first. I think I'm going to use silver paint though instead of black. Also for the heatshield maybe. I would like a bigger radiator but didn't find anything suitable (and cheap) yet, thinking of a small car radiator maybe, like from an aygo or even smaller. The stuff is self adhesive, got it from a friend so can't link to a site for it...

Did you also notice the picture with my swaybar above?? Not normal here that people don't respond to such things ! hahaha lol
