This was a beast I built up way back in 97, ( shows how old I am! )

It was based arround a 2.0 Ford Capri.

    Brief spec was.

    Engine bored out to 2.2
    Forged pistons and rods
    Kinife edged crank,
    Blue printed
    lightend flywheel
    Heavy duty bearings
    Arp bolts though out
Ported and polished cylinder head, with over size valves
    Piper rally cam
2 x Webber 45 carbs with ITG sock filters
    Uprated fuel pump
    Uprated oil pump
    Baffled sump
Sierra 5 speed box with quick shift
    Uprated clutch

4 pot calipers and 280mm discs on the front

Coilover front shocks with pillow ball mounts,
Uprated front and rear anti roll bars
    New poly bushes though out
    Anti dive kit
De cambered rear springs with shortened shox
    Axle location kit
    LSD
    15" TSW wheels with 195, 50 tyres.

Stripped out shell, with Roll centre 6 point cage
2 sparco bucket seats with race harness
    Fire extingusher

    Total weight 920 kgs
    Rolling roaded at 186bhp

Although not built for Qtrs, will got a best of 14.3. which was good going back in 97!

I raced in a sprint and hill climb championship as you can see bt the CCC97 sticker.

I finished 3rd in class twice, 4th 4 times and only once was I out of the top 6 in class.

Good enough for 3rd overall in my class.

Sadly the car was broken up for parts after the end of the season, as I ran out of money :( :(

But it was a great fun time, and in many ways this car is the orginal Trinity and the inspiration for my racing this year and next with Trinity

yeah it was fantastic on dry smooth surfaces, really tidy, but not over tyred, so you could really get it in to corners well, It used to be set up to just drift in oversteer at the limit. But the live rear axle was a nightmare on bumpy surfaces, even the LSD it was tricky and in the wet OMG was it a handfull, it cam on cam at 4,000rpm, reving to 7,200. and it would spin up in first, 2nd and sometimes 3rd!. It was a great fun car and I miss it badly... really badly.

Sprey, it was sold for parts as that was the only way I could get some of the money I had invested back.

I always love red cars, just something about them I love, so hebce why trinity is red too!!
