    Hello Boys and Girls,

Here are some pictures of my new celica :D. Excuse the bad quality photos, it's taken them from my iphone. Also used a free iphone app to try to make it look sexy. HAhaha.

    Anyway,

Two tone paint, previous owner said its orginal. Some rust on wheel wells. It has PUSH TO START. Yeah. Never use it though, they installed it to bypass some ignition issue. The engine has about 314,000KMs and leaking some oil. Still debating to either drop in another 3sge rebuilt engine or ship a JDM stock turbo here and have it installed. The 1st gen JDM 3sgte is only $650 incl shipping would be about $900 but then i'd need to fit it with a new tranny, my tranny will probably need to be swapped soon anyway so i might have it all done together. If i get a stock 3sge rebuilt from Yamato powertrain warehouse its about $2,600(incl labour).
Power windows work(drivers side slips), power sunroof(sometimes gets stuck), lumbar, side mirror...
    AC only blows hot air.
Sometimes car won't start, it won't turn. I will try that starter fix that was posted in another thread. Adding a relay of some sort.

I have done no mods to it yet, just trying to get it into a safe driving condition first.
When i brought it in to rotate the tires, the front left axle shaft was broken... so the wheel was held on by 5 lugnuts... Mechanic said i was lucky the wheel didn't fly off when i was on the highway.
I will probably be getting new rotors and brake pads in next. Then focus on what to do with engine before it dies.

Here are some sad photos of my old 86' celica gts that was written off...

Got paid out $4,500 for the accident. $1,500 for the car :(. In hindsight I could have just bought it back from the icbc. It was in fairly good condition, barely no rust, everything was working fine, and only 150,000kms on the engine. But the body work would have cost more than my new celica now.

omfg icbc wrote that off?! i was about to buy two doors from a scrap yard (the whole thing metal/glass/innards) for $100. unless the body wasn't straight anymore, damn :/

welcome to the site either way! that starter mod will make life much easier. takes about an hour to do. where abouts in BC are you at? also i might know how to fix your power window

Hey nice Celica. Sucks to hear about what happened to your other black Celica. But nonetheless you have another and you're keepin' the Celicalitus (how do you spell it again?) disease haha I'm doin the same you're doin'. Getting everything running as how it should be. Although I'm savin up for another engine and the mounts are gonna have to be custom as it isn't really a plug and play as the 3S engines. Even with the 3S engines there's still a bit of plugging in to do! But my engine is gonna die soon I can hear it and feel it. If funds/especially time permits I will do the swap myself in a few years from now. Will make for a good build thread and first time experience. On the other hand, if the engine doesn't last I'm opting for the swap done at a shop. Anyway, Keep us updated! :cheers

Congrats on the new Celica and sorry for the old Celica.
Would you mind if I asked you where you find your JDM motors?

    Thanks.

1st gen 3sgte $690, it came up to be about $900 shipped to me.

I just googled for it. But there are quite a few importers of these engines. Although i've never actually ordered any of these engines before so i can't really say if they are any good or not.

Thanks for the compliments! She is pretty hot, but im contemplating if I can get an alltrac here locally. LOL. :D

    Cool, thanks. :)
I just wanted to ask since I've heard (or read, really) a lot of horror stories on places in Canada selling bad engines.
I remember seeing that motor a few weeks ago, but I didn't go for it because I decided that I didn't have the funds to shove it into my car. lol

Good luck on your '162 project, or on getting the alltrac! :)

Two tone paint gray/amethyst. Seems to be a rare combo.
To know if it's original, check for the colour code 21K on your engine bay tag.

Hi Sportyone, start a separate thread with your stunning coloured Celica, I want to know all about this one and how you came about it. Are they original colours ?
