Ok...So last night i jacked her up, took off the wheel. No play at 12+6, no play at 3+9, Slight groove starting to be embedded into backside of rotor...Fixed caliper retaining clip, hopefully fixes that issue.
No play in my steering, or outer tie rods...I think it must be the lower ball joint. I know my rack has a problem..When i turn it it sounds as if im winding a spring. Oh and mafix, My tie rod ends have the castle nut on the underside of the mount..Is that stock or flipped? I think its already flipped..

bolt the tie rods from the bottom up. ie flip them. then get an alignment.

This is my problem isnt it ?

Also, with the 7th gen wheels on, the car is physically higher and i think with how low it is, its not right..

I also found out i think i have trd or toyota threaded shock bodies...

I think by flipping these, i will rid of alot of the bumpsteer due to the improved relationship between the ball joint and tie-rod...

Any ideas on the rack noise? Fluids comin out and the belt is getting cut...

    Manual steering FTW!

  12. Your rack is making noise because its low on fluid - top it up, if you want manual steering then remove the belt but do not drain the fluid.

Lets see a pic of your shock housings.

Those end links wont work on the front I dont think not unless you can find some really short ones.

Mafix, thats interesting regarding flipping the tie rods what is the benefit of doing so on our cars?

Ill post the shock pics later when i get home...

The rack isnt low on fluid i dont think...

Any idea why it sounds like im winding a spring ?

  14. It sounds that way because its low on fluid, its making the noise because there is air pockets passing through it.

you're pump may be blown or the fluid really old as well. they also contribute to noise.

flipping the tie rods over help reduce bumpsteer. they try to keep the circular ratio of the tie rod ends (inner and outer), ball joints, and control arm bushings in a closer ratio then if they were stock. note that this may only be needed in the most severe cases. intrax springs, some coil-over setups are the only ones that may have to look into this. i'll try and post a pic later of why flipping them is a good idea.

  17. So for one witha lowered car it it'll help with bumpsteer?
I am pretty sure that the tie rod/steering knuckle also uses a tapered design so by flipping it how do you get it to properly seat it in place?

IIRC it's not tapered. just tighten that bolt down good. it'll be fine.
