Not sure if other auto celi's do this, but my shifter has some play to the left/right up/down, and a little rotational wiggle as well. Makes the car seem cheap haha! Anybody have this problem fixed before? Sorry but it bothers me haha! thanks!

i would assume the buchings are work on the cable or the shifter base.

nah just visit the scrap yard. things like that are small and can be stuffed into pockets/buried in tool boxes (provided you have a bigger messy toolbox)

Is there a diagram or link to the bgb details of the auto shifter and bushings etc. The linkage has been super loose forever and the sliding cover was wasted as well. I picked up a decent complete shifter from the boneyard but its nice to see pics...

Mine had heaps of play in it as well, I just shimmed it up with a couple of washers. I haven't finished putting it back together yet, I'll take some pics next time I'm fiddling with it.

I did this repair last weekend: The shifter that I got from the junkyard also had bad bushings so luckily found two washers (one small hole/ one larger hole) that fit perfectly on each side. This totally solved the problem. I also needed the sliding indicator cover cause mine was completely gone. The one from the boneyard was in pretty good shape except a fairly long crack which I repaired with superglue and 5 min clear epoxy on the bottom. This workd well and hardly shows from the top. It looks stock and feels real smooth when shifting. All in all this was one of my better butcher jobs for the Burpcar...

    Sorry so late...
On to another auto ECT question - Are the first gen 3sge autos governed or rev limited? I just did a complete tune up including wires cap & rotor; runs decent for 240,000 mi on original bottom and Trans. It's always run good but never felt good a higher rpms.
This time sense a pos misfire or raspy sound above 6,000 but it may be carbon..
