alright well this is pretty much as it sounds. My muffler has rusted out (and now makes my car sound like hell!) so obviously i'm gonna get a new one (magnaflow) relatively soon. My question is however how much will it cost to have the muffler installed for me? i would do it myself but don't have a welder. i figure all they need to do is weld the new muffler on, any ideas on what it should cost???
bring it to adams place and its free you can have it welded or clamp it on. If you get that same one i did, you exhaust is probably 1.5 inch vs the 2 inch muffler so it will be a reducer cup, you can get them at the over priced cost of liek 5 bucks at crappy tire. Mine was lucky enough to snugly slide over the exhisting pipe, so I just tacked it on and clamped it tight. sorry just rambling, no idea on the cost, they liek to rip people off so um, 50 bucks?
it's like 100 bucks at zoro muffler including a new muffler....so i wouldn't pay more than 50-60 bucks to weld it on...
i wont have the muffler till prob a month from now, but if you bring it home sometime around then, that would b an awesome help. ps what did they send u with the muffler? anything or just the muffler?
It came in a big box with my cat and flex pipe, and then it was a magnaflow box, and inside that it was the muffler, still shrink wrapped, and a warranty card (not vlid from ebay sellers) and a decal for my window. Hum, now the problem is I no longer have a hosue in stouffville as of may 1st, ill be in barrie and my mom will be in Niagra. But if u wanna make a trip up, or catch me one day when Im back in town visitiin we cna still do it
ok cool thanks, we will see what happens. if i get it and u are coming to town soon then maybe we can meet up, otherwise i'll see if one of my friends knows someone.
personally..... I just used clamps....cut off my old muffler with an angle grinder and I was good to go....
you can even clamp it for now and weld it when you get the chance.....ill probably get mine welded on eventually but it works fine really....
Clamps should be good with a quality muffler. Then it's a do it yourself job as long as you have a hacksaw. My cheap crappy tire muffler always slid off and dragged on the road before I welded it. Then the hangers fell off. And now it has some sweet looking rebar to hook onto the car.
