I've given up trying to get my leather GTS seats recovered. No one makes a leather seat cover for them. I lost my chance at some 2000 GTS seats, but they weren't as comfortable as my stock seats anyways. However, I can get replacement leather seat covers for 88-92 supra seats, and they looked very similar to the GTS/Alltrac seats. Anyone swapped MkIII Supra seats into a 4th gen Celica? Straight swaps? Rail mods needed? I also read that for some years, the GTS and Supra shared the exact same back seat, and the pics of the Supra looked just like my rear seat - SWEET! Can anyone confirm this? I smell new leather...
all car seats remove from the sliders/brackets by 4 bolts, if everything lines up it might just have to unbolt the old from the track and bolt the new ones on i think that they are the same seats too
They are the same. I verified that today at the wrecking yard. They have a 90 Supra turbo and the seats are exactly the same. I can order new leather seat covers for a 90 Supra and finish redoing my interior - um, after fixing everything mechanical....
I thought MkIII Supras and 4th gen. GT-S's had the same front seats? They look really similar at any rate.
Check over on c-tech. Someone there is bound to know for sure. I almost bought a pair of pristine leather '01 MR2 turbo seats for my GTS, but didn't pull the trigger in time - shoulda, coulda.... didn't. However, they looked like they'd go into my 88GTS with little to no mods. Definitely sit lower to the floor, but that at 6'4", that would have been a good thing. Damn, I should have grabbed them when I had the chance. Thanks for dredging up bad memories, Letze!
Rear brackets are different on the MKII MR2T If you can work with sheet metal I'd say get some 2k3 Celi seats, I like mine they just need some rear bracket mods, front brackets almost bolt up perfectly, (hammer tappin fixes that though)
