Anyone got any tips on how to break into an ST162? Has anyone ever managed to get in with a coat hanger in the door? I tried, think it didn't work because the lock is sideways. Anyway, mean while i am stuck at my mums house and falsed to stay the night!
You can use a coat hanger, but I don't know how to do it the way you are thinking. I am assuming you wanted to slide the hanger in at the base of the window. I have successfully opened a couple of Celicas by sliding a coat hanger past the seal at the top of the window. You need a hook on the end to grab onto the lock lever. Be sure to bend it, and slide it in so that once it's hooked on you can pull the lever without it slipping off. It helps a lot to have someone on the other side of the car to help you guide it to the lock lever. In my experience, the first time I did this, it took about 20 mins, the second time was more like 10 mins. Not car thief fast, but it gets you in the car. Consider getting a spare or two keys cut.
Maybe this would be good done by Pm, rather then telling the workd how easy it easy to nick our poor cars lol!
Well unfortunately any car that does not have a frame around the top/sides off the windows in the doors is pretty easy pray and pretty much every car thief allready knows that. That is why it is a really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really good idea to put a Fuel Pump Cut Off Switch on your car
Not sure if you got the central locking or not, but..... get a coat hanger, straighten it and put a LOOP on the end. Slide it horizontally in past the window seal, and grab onto the lock lever.
I have a spare key, unfourtunatly its in the house and the house keys are in the car lol. It has manual door locks. Oh, and it seems a coat hanger + patience = Unlocked door And having day light probably helped a little as well lol.
