Yeah, it would be murder if you didn't have a cage with door bars. And at that point, you aren't loosing any weight.

ROTOR, I do NOT plan to purchase a sunroof,a s my car is not fitted with one. I was simply stating it would be very lucrative for you. Thanks

You guys have the right idea but to save a Ish load of weight Create a fiberglass hatch and repklace the rear window with lexan..... Best weight savings there and no crash stability decrease... Make some styling hoods like the rally hoods, evo * style vents, Invader, Ram air hoods Also some fenders. Throw a poll up i gaurantee you will find out what everyone wants.. I used to fab fiber glass fenders up for race cars ..... Doors are the last thing needed for any car racing, street or strip.. That where you need your safety...Not to mention it wont past Tech inspect at any sanctioned track.. THOSE ARE GOOD FOR LAMBO DOORS AT BEST SORRY... I seen way too many accidents in my line of business where doors save lives ...
Add fiberglass doors to the mix.....your body alone can run thru a fiberglass door.. Sorry i just whole heartedly think is a bad bad idea...
about doors and its safety almoust all drifting cars in poland have autor's body kits ald elements, they been crasched many times, i saw many crasched doors and panels - nothing special instead steel doors. in that old car [celica] doors don't have safety aspect , oem doors are only thin plate of steel - nothing inside to protect you [off topic to nbx33] on days i will show you a full mtechnic on car, you have only rear spoiler
correct rye. let me intervene here. fiberglass doors are not for STREET cars. they do not have the correct safety equipment in them. now for a race car...check your track ruling and decide from there. i'm ready to pay for my doors but one question. are they going to hold the stock electronics, panel and glass?
doors, hood etc. are direct copy of oem parts. looks the same and hold the same things ,same mounting places etc.
There is something inside the doors to protect them. They have a couregated panel about 6"-8" high that runs from the front to the back of the door. The top half of the included pic shows the bottom of the panel.
I believe Jim cut that out of his race car....but he's got a cage.... These fiberglass doors wouldnt be safe in a crash....unless you have a cage.... but anyone that's buying them is probably racing already otherwise whats the point, and will most likely have a cage anyway! Fender's would be a good idea as well, they're a fairly simple design and always rust out at the bottom....
I'd like to know how much What is the cost of individual parts? I'd like to know what the price is for fenders, sunroof, and a hood. Thanks.
Well I still think alot of questions need to be answered. Our hoods come with this metal bar mounted right in them so will the fiberglass replacement also have this bar included. Our hoods have the mounting bolts for the hinges permanently mounted so will the fiberglass hood come with the mounting bolts allready inserted. The sunroof has 6 bolts permanently mounted in it. The sunroof has a thin lip about 1/4" high and 1mm wide which is used to hold the weather stripping in the channel indicated by the yellow line. The door has a couple of bolts permanently mounted in it. 2 more pics of the couregated safety panel inside the door.
