at night when i am driving if i hit the brake or move a window up or down everything dims for a second, when this happens my charge gauge moves a hair then goes back
bad grounding somewhere as well.......could be alot of variables? when was the last time you checked your batt and the alt?....have you checked you wires for any type of faults? check all of your grounds to make sure that they are on tight and secure properly on metal to metal contact.
Happens to me as well. I'm thinking either alternator or need better battery. My HIDs don't even start correctly.
got new alternator 1 month ago, how could it be battery when it still starts the car fine? just had battery out bout a month ago and cleaned the terminals really good, my car wont start even if the cable is just loose a hair, they gotta be cranked on good to work at all. ill have to look at everything...
you could try to replace the neg cable from the batt. this helped mine, but still has similar issues to yours. e.g. if the headlights are on and i hit the brakes with the blinker on the dash lights flash and the volt meter goes nuts. or any similar combo of load.
Sounds like bad earths and cable issues. Check resistances from the battery to ground, alt, starter, fusebox etc, etc - there shouldn't be any Old Opels are famous for this, the wires oxidise inside and resistances go up causing all kinds of gremlins and eventually the ECU blows. My voltmeter moves when I put on indicators, had it on 4 cars so it must be a JDM thing, everything else is fine. What I have found is the rubber caps on some engine connectors split, water gets in and rusts the contacts. It's a pain but I had to pull everything and replace a few connectors
it's normal guys. our alternators stock are rated at 60 amps. that's it. you can upgrade away on stuff and make it better but it will never go away unless you have a custom built alternator.
No, g/f's Corolla also has a 60A I used a ST202 80A alternator the last few months, damm thing melts my LED's and the voltmeter still moved when indicating
I've been using the bigger 80a alternator as well, i haven't melted an LED yet, but the voltmeter still moves when indicating as well.
Its not a Battery or Alternator issue- its a Grounding issue. You will have to make some grounding kits and or Ebay for the kits. You will need to ground both headlights Markers and Taillights, then add a ground to the dash cluster, and finally Ground the hell out of the engine lol I had to run 8 Wires from the engine to the frame....... OUR CARS ARE BECOMING > :corsair LOLOL\
^^^^^ now see why doesnt anyone complain about his avatar.........i put one up and i get screamed at.....lol
