Great work! Cannot see the difference. Was the complete panel resprayed or just around the repairs?
I plan to do the same when spring comes, I have rust issues at the back (again).

I like it better too without the decals. I liked even my car much better after I removed my huge vinyls :)

Looks fabulous now Derren, a much cleaner look. But knowing you the stickers will probably go on at some point in the future. :) Must be a great feeling having a rust free car :)

Thanks ! The whole panel both sides completely repainted, including spoiler ends, rear plate holder etc all removed and went right round the back so in essence apart from the spoiler on the tailgate,a complete back end respray, bumper as well.Im glad ive got the black trim line in the bumper now,it makes the black trim down the side of the car flow all the way round.

Steve, yes mate not having any body panel rust is great, looking at it now makes me love the car even more.I liked the decals i had,it helped to individualise the car along the theme i had going....but ill leave it alone for now.Like the look!

finally got the front wheel bearing replaced the other day, sooo much quieter now.Was getting worse so as soon as i got the car back from the paintshop i booked it into a local garage that was recommended to me as i couldnt do it myself.I supplied the kit as i had bought a job lot of st162 parts that came up a while back now,was loads of brand new parts in the box including track rod ends, ball joints,Gates timing belt kit, plugs, the front bearing kit and a rear one, loads of stuff. From a guy over on CCUK who sold up,i got it all for £40 delivered, bargain. So i also supplied the guys with a new ball joint and replaced the rubber gaiter at the same time, made sense. All these little things to try and keep her tip top!

    Great work

Great work you have done to get your car rust free and looking amazing. Tell me who did the recent body work I could do with some repairs on the two tone!

Thanks Mark!It was a bodyshop in Marden, Kent called full circle.Ill see how the paint holds up,but theyve done a good job i reckon.

Bit of an update,i had a bit of a leak situation and it turned out the oil cooler pipes on my GE werent too good

Yuk.Pulled back the rubber cover and it was an oil fest.

So replaced them with pressure fuel grade pipe sent to me by Shaun, dumped the clips and used Jubilee type

just got to degrease, and rub back the surface rust especially on the metal ends of the oil pipes, and paint protect.

I've also recently had to have a battle with my K&N oil filter,i must have pinched it up too tight last time even with the moulded nut on top it wasnt budging.Newbie type error,so ashamed. :scratchSo,after mashing the mo-fo up,nothing left but to take off the exhaust manifold etc and cranked the bitch off,so new oil and filter, and manifold and downpipe gaskets too,now all is well.

car is running very sweet.so much more responsive than the Ford focus my wife has.
So ive also treated the car to these..

Set of 16 inch OZ Racing multispokes, havent seen too many of these in a 16 inch, with tyres, good condition and carbon centre caps (ooooh)

Bit of a long term thing and certainly not a permanent replacement for the wheels i have, which i love.Long term thing, tempted to refurb in Frozen white like my current ones, and get the original OZ decals redone in red...or i may have them in antharacite,greyish....dunno but they are a niiice wheel

    Picked up my wheels today:hurray

Dont think they'll be going on the car for a while as i want them on there when theyre all done painted up in my colour of choice  And thatll be a while!
Though knowing me ill probably put them on anyway 'just to have a look' as they are for a bit LOL

Mock up teaser shot sitting next to the car...well you get the idea ,ha looks a bit daft like that ! but they wont be staying this colour like i say either (and theyll fit under the arch better too LOL)

Gave the car a good wash as we are forecast a lot of snow apparently, shitloads of salt on the roads on my way back in readiness for it,but it ain't what a gen4 likes..so soon as i got home ,quick wash.Cars always look lush when theyre still wet...mines no exception1

    Slippery when Wet :hehe

    agreed.

Wish I could make my Celi look as clean as yours. Can't wait for warmer weather to slowly start cleaning the car. BTW, I saw those rims on tirerack.com and it is very tempting... i think they are clearing their stock in case anyone is interested...

cheers all,im leaning towards the grey colour,a lot of people over here have seen the pics and think the grey in that particular style of wheel looks pretty classy.I wont be selling my current ones though as i like them far too much,i want to be in a position where i can swap between the sets depending on my mood,(plus in winter the grey ones are a damn sight easier to keep clean LOL)
It was a CCUK member who sold these ones,i paid £170 with tyres so a did a 220 mile round trip yesterday to collect them.Car needed a good run and it was running great,so well happy at the moment, though ive spent all my money now :wink (again)
