I just found out that I need new inner tie rod's. I have read the haynes manual and it does not tell much. Could anyone explain to me or point me to a DIY that shows/tells how to do it?
Since you're doing the inner tie rods I would do the outer at the same time. You'll also need to get an alignment done afterwards. In a nutshell: Jack up front of car, remove front tires. Break loose inner tie rode threads and stay nut (this will make it easier). Remove cotter pin from outer tie rod, remove nut. Either use a tie rod seperator or a BFH and remove outer tie rod from steering knuckle. Remove outer tie rod from inner tie rod. Remove inner tie rod dust boot from steering rack. If power steering fluid leaks out, you have a leak on the rack and need to address that. Use the inner tie rod removal tool ($35) and remove inner tie rod. Reverse for install. Make sure the new tie rods come with the lock washers for inner. Also you can eye ball an alignment but still should get it done professionally.
