I'm considering what I had planned to do with my AT, and spending about 2k worth of stuff just to make the car street legal and look decent isn't worth it in my book, Its only going to run me 300 to make it ready for amature rally/Auto Cross I'm considering spending the the money I would spend on body work towards an ST185 to clean up and make into my weekend and show car.
i think they are nice cars id really like one if i could afford one as long as your not looking at some riced out honda i think your safe a celica still is a celica lol
They are good cars, bit too curvy for my liking but damn good fun. Two things I know from working on my mates 5th gen 185. 1. The air to air intercooler is crap, change it for a fmic as soon as you can if you plan to run more boost. 2. They still have shit brakes as std, as they also heavier than 165, make sure you get good stoppies!! good luck fella
I dont to much like the 5th gen body style- even the body kits are to outrageous- But the engines are nice !!!
I'm sorry I cant do that youds... if you look at my sig you'll probably understand why... LOL I have no problem with the 185's body style its not going to be a performance car, Like I said show car, I'm going to keep the car as clean as possible untill I mess up my 165 to the point of no return. (assuming I get one) as for the breaks, they are set up with larger rotors and bigger calipers, from what I've been told best way to improve your breaking is new/clean rotors and performance pads combined with new fluid and cleaning. I guess my real problem is this will put me at 3 cars... or 2 cars and an expensive gokart which probably isn't a good idea.
I would sell the 165 for what you can get and invest the rest into a 185. I'm kinda in your boat right now, but hopefully not for long.
i will own a 185 sometime in my life! when i get the funds to fund it haha i say do it ! they are sexy! make sure you get the wide body spec tho
