Hey guys i was searching the forums for my problem... it's probobly there somewhere but I couldn't find it.. I read up on the "heater" post that Rick89GTS helped with but it didn't fix it for long. At the moment, I have the "quick fix" applied to the heating mechanism under the hood next to the firewall.. I had heat for a few days, now all I get is super cold air (which is usually nice for the yotas =D) maybe its stuck on AC? The weird thing is SOMETIMES I get heat! I don't get it. When I don't need the heat it usually comes on, but when i go to turn it up or switch the settings, it goes away ;p Anyone know if this is a heater core problem?
Remove your radiator cap when the engine is cold and make sure it is full of coolant. There is also a radiator overflow tank and it should be full to the cold mark level. Follow little rubber hose from your radiator cap and you will find the overflow tank.
I have the same issues in my vert.......... i even bypassed the Heater control Valve..... Still no heat..... I am going to flush the entire system. and use a ton of rad cleaner. to get all that brown jelly shit out.... run distilled for a day or two..... then flush again.... the fill appropiately.. See if it helps.... I just dont want to yank out the heater core... Does anyone know if the heater /Ac controls are cable or vacuum operated? But does anyone have a write up on it... considering how f**** hard it was to remove the radio it cant be much after thats out.
Sounds like someone may have used radiator stop leak in there. Yuk Hope it didn't plug everything up. electric servo motors I'm pretty sure I've posted that section of the manual down in technical. There is no easy way to remove it and it is in 3 sections.
As Rich has stated there are 2 valves you have to set. - 1 in the engine compartment on the firewall - 1 under the heater
