Has anyone ever done the conversion to R134? Which hoses I can check for leaks, needs replacing, or pay attention to, what parts need replacing to compensate for the R134's difference in pressure. I don't have alot of money for the conversion and/or repairs to be done at a shop. So I may buy a retrofit kit, but I'm seeking guidance in this area. What is this I hear about the service ports. And the 3 (2 highs, 1 low)? And where can I find these ports? Also, my heater doesn't work either. There hasn't been any Freon in the system for over a decade. But I do run the fans/blower on just to seek a bit of relief from the 100 degree humidity as well as keeping the windows down and sunroof. lol I know this is alot to ask for. But....tips? Greatly appreciated
All you need is new R13 adaptors for the H and L ports - pics on my thread - menu below I'd change all the o-rings while you can, leaks you can only find with a special gas detector once it's full. No mods needed to run R13, there are all kinds of stories going round, mostly aircon co's trying to scare customers into wasting more money
I think I may have a refrigerant leak. Link below for thread read. Thanks guys. Subject: Hello from SoCal! update
