gen1/2 both have the same exhuast pattern (ports/studs) the other "cheap" upgrade is to fit a set of gen2 headers, they're much better than the stock gen1 headers, but will require modification to mate up with the stock exhuast, as will most likely the hurricane's.

It's the Beams headers that don't fit.
We've been saving money by recycling gen2/3 headers for years and no it won't help if the rest of your exhaust is too small/restricted

    Hotshot header is similar

Bought these the other day (ex JDM) - anybody know the make?

Appears to be a HKS logo cast/stamped into the flange between cylinders 3 and 4?

gen1/2 3sge and 5sfe are the same exhaust port/stud pattern, gen3/4 are the same, and beams are different again.

    gen 2/3 are not interchangeable.

    extractors - egr block off

I don't know where my extractors are from but they're not stock, and I had the egr plate cut off and welded/filled... Now i'm not sure if there's metal inside the tube but it did the job and i've used them for about 7 years now

I'm sure you can add it if you need to
Looks like Genie sells an EGR header

gen3 exh ports are more evenly spaced, gen2 have a bigger gap between ports 2/3. i'll get pics over the weekend. ports and bolt/studs are all different.

gen3 gasket on top of gen2, yes i know it's a turbo gasket, but the gen3 na/turbo heads are the same, just less fixing studs on the NA head.

Thanks, that is interesting and looking at my manifold pic you can see the uneven spacing too

Both of my gen1 GE's had the EGR tube going from the head ( beside the valve covers ) to the intake manifold/TB.
Unless it's only the USDM guys that have it going from the exhaust mani?
