    I would like to:

    1. Would like to replace the bulbs for the interior lights (ceiling)
    2. Remove the rear mirror

But, I somehow got into a problem:

    1. Cannot access the bulbs in the light casing
    2. My rear mirror is lose (no daylight/night-driving flip mode)

    Ceiling light casing:
I had remove a small cover and exposed 3 screws (2 I can remove, but the 3rd one I cannot access).
How do I remove this light casing (or/and change the bulbs)?

Rear Mirror, I had unscrew the TINY screw behind the rear mirror and now I cannot screw back in (hence mirror is now floppy on its swivel ball). How do I fix and HOW do I remove the mirror from the SWIVEL or from the ceiling light casing?

i just did this today on a non vert. on everything else the mirror is seperate from the light, so it can be taken off independantly. so on a non vert the grey bit and light lenses have 1 screw and then clips on. the clips run east to west on the front and rear sides. so basically you just pry it off from the front or rear. this will leave all the buttons ect on the ceiling, and allow access to the bulbs and screws that hold everything else on.

-non sure about a vert, but id guess its nearly the same. try taking out the 2 screws then pulling down on the front to "pop" it. be carefull.

Cheers mate - I am really a BAD DIYer....been telling everyone it took me FOUR hours to put up a shelf (due to everything under the sun that could go wrong, went wrong. Including broken drill bits and drilling walls like using a machine gun!) - at the end of the 4hrs the shelf wasn't even fixed to the wall let alone slant to one side!

Anyway, I did remove those TWO exposed screws and though it seems a bit lose from that side, I still felt it was firmly fixed to the ceiling by the partially hidden THIRD screw and didn't want to push my luck as to ripped the light casing from the ceiling :-(

I will investigate more in the coming days, weeks....maybe months :-(

We know that you're not good with DIY but once again, that's what this site is for................ Ask your mechanic Martin to have a quick look for you while he's doing your roof hydraulics. There's nothing worse than breaking shit.

Also, buy a repair manual for your car............... Maybe should have bought one for a shelf installation :lol

That car repair manual will help you to locate the precise location of what's called an oil level check thingy and what's called the radiator cap thingy to check for stuff :mrgreen

get a bgb (big green book). you can find them on ebay. since you have a vert youd also need the vert supliment (may be euro specific one?).

same im sure. but there usaully refered to as the Big Green Book. BGB's. so you'd look on ebay for "89 celica bgb", or "83 corolla bgb" for instance.
-haynes and chilton just buy a set of information and pics from the manufacturers, take some pics and sell thier manual. so youll find way less info in one of those. most of whats in there is word for word and the drawn pics are just copied. but again they leave out alot of stuff. bgb is the only way to go.

Neither this one (Supplement) or the main BGB has enough info on removal of the roof lights - think at best it shows the electrics or something.... :-(
