I think either my pump's fucked, or my seals are going...either way... Anyone done it before? How much of a pita is it? I know I'm gonna have to take my damn A/C outta the way to get at it.... grr

um...yeah PITA. you'll have to do the timing belt which i believe there is a write up on. if not i'll chime 86 to grab one.

if your engines out currently I would do all the major peices before install,

timingbelt, waterpump, clutch, anything that will be a PITA when it's in that you can do now and prolong having to do it for a bit. :p

I may not do the clutch simply due to my lack of money...dmanit...

so...pull it out. And then do the water pump and timing belt....and clutch. You are probably looking at less time and less headache to pull the engine and do these things

it's not that bad to do in the car. i could do a write up but that would take a couple hours that i'm not looking to do at the moment.

It looks easy enough to access if I take off the ac compressor...but...it's not THAT bad of a leak yet so I think I'll leave it for now.....maybe some rad stop leak haha

nonono not stop leak...that messed my heater up for a long time.....took forever and a couple of flushes to get it "warm" again

man, if i was you, id get the water pump changed asap if you think the water pumps fucked... mine started leaking just a little bit about 2 months ago and i left it for ages, it got to the stage where it was pissin out everytime i drove it and i'd have to fill it up.. and since im working all week every week, i had no time to fix it so i bokked it in at a mechanic where i get almost free labour and im getting it back 2moz on my lunch brake (so excited haha)... iv heard of cracked heads and what not as a result of broken water pumps.

its so much safer changing it now :) and get a timing belt kit while your at it... includes all new tensioner's and belt and pulley's and what not (depending on which kit of course)

just thought id have my input in the matter :)

is your water pump making a metal scraping noise? like worn bearings??

on the 3sfe motor it really isnt all that hard to do, the hardest part is gaining access, but the bgb on celitech for the 5th gen 5s is the same stuff for ours, i did my water pump and timing belt in an after noon with now guide, all you have to do is unbolt the motor mount on the water pump side and jack up the engine, not much room to work in there but it is doable

I think I can handle it...I also just found out my steering rack is bent :S fuck...and I just sold the one from my parts car a few weeks ago :( hmm....it's gonna chew up my whole front end now if I drive like that!

you can't bend a rack. inner or outer tie rods ends but not the rack.
