My red 165: My uncle from NY was going to donate it to charity to get a tax write off b/c it just sat on the streets gathering door and bumper dings. I promptly talked him into selling it to me sight unseen and thats all she wrote. Didnt look like it does now, looked like it came out of a junk yard.

My white 165: My buddy owned it and had it built up pretty nicely by speedsource. Passing a bus one day the engine grenaded and he lost ambition to further fix it and parted it out. Sat in a field for two years rotting away and then thats when I bought it from him (basically just a rolling shell).

My black 165: Saw it parked a few blocks away from my house for along time. Always wanted to bug the owner to sell it to me. He found out I owned a 165 also and we talked alittle. Unfortunately his car was hit and totalled and he then offered to sell it to me which I bought immediatly haha. Too good of an offer to pass up even for a totalled car.

I think Im done buying 4th gens haha

never ever had even thought about getting one of these. didnt know much about them other then a guy in the car club had one that seemed to go alright.
I guy dad and i knew through the various motorsport clubs was selling it and he doesnt live far from me. he was asking 3.5 and decided to look at it.
Paint wasnt great but prity good, body straight, mags, new tyres, rebuilt engine (look how that turned out). i thought it looked good but wasnt convinced.
i fired it up and gave it a rev and that sound just pulled me in, took it for a quick spin despite only being 16 and an unregistered car lol. Asked him if he could hold on to it coz of money he said its mine for 2k, spoke to dad and ang she was mine.

Parts car / future track car
$500 off ebay bought soley for the good condition sunroof lol.

    former GT2/wrecking
halves with fyinix87 $300 each for me solely wanted the gte

found mine rusting away in a backyard, bought it for $200 with a blown motor, towed it home. swapped the motor, got some very intense body work done, paint, wheels, cleaned inside and out, called it a day.

I'd been into Celicas for a couple years ever since a 2nd gen. was put up for sale literally 20 yards from my house. Didn't get that one, but 2 years later once I had my license a friend and I were doing a "just fixed the car now lets beat the hell out of it" back roads run and drove by a house with a clean '86 GT for sale. Since I was looking for a car, and already had a thing for old Yotas, I convinced my mom to front the money for it. Loved that car the minute I sat down in the drivers seat, and after it was prematurely totaled 5 months later another friend (Letze on this site, haven't seen him in a while..) found me another '86, this one a GT-S, for sale on Craigslist for the exact same amount of money my insurance had given me for the GT. No brainer, bought that car over 2 years ago and it's been a loyal beast ever since, even if I haven't been able to give it the care it deserves.

came across mine in craigslist. saw the low miles, no badges and the low price. thought i would get rid of my cressida which had all kinds of problems and not worry about anything. have had the car for 2 years and have on;y replaced the clutch which i knew about when buying and now i am going to replace the axles. just wish there was more of an aftermarket for the 3sge...

i found my celica coupe on carpoint, i was originally looking for an AE86 or a Suzuki Cappuccino (lol) mum goes to me, cappuccino is too small for you, u need a shoehorn to get into it!! lol and she bagged the AE86 too, saying the car was wierd... so i looked on carpoint for celicas, i wanted to find a clean RA60, but after not finding any, i saw the ST162, after searching for a clean hatch version, and came up dry, i came across my coupe. love at first sight. i did my searching while recovering from an operation to remove all 4 of my wisdom teeth, which were all impacted. so i spent my time searching carpoint. and i payed 2 grand for cypher, and that is that. bad thing is, the guy said he replaced the radiator, now i know he didnt... but being a toyota, small problems like this are easy to fix. just money thats the problem.

I bought Chaos years ago off a lot and fell in love.

Many years later, I sold my project Mustang off and didn't have a project. So I started hunting for another Celica. I found a low mileage 5th Gen GT-S in Florida that I was thinking about buying for a fair price when my wife started searching locally. She found an `89 GT Hatch just down the road from me and told me I should check it out before heading to Florida to buy what turned out to be a major lemon.

So I called this kid that owned the `89 GT and went by to take a look at it. I always liked the 4th Gen Hatch so it was an aesthetically pleasing car. He had a stack of receipts to go with the car as well as a slew of new parts. He was moving, and wouldn't be needing the car in a larger city where he would be attending school.

I wound up picking her up for a small fee and taking her home.

Fast forward a few years, and she is still sitting in my parkinglot next to her sister.
