I replaced jeffs intake manifold gasket yesterday because well because it went out and was making is car not idle. So I pulled the engine out unbolted the intake manifold and got the tvis plate out. Shit he is missing a butterfly! I look in the head and its lodged in there. I take a screw driver and pop it out. I start think and the real question is were are the screws for it. Riding ontop the pistons? Or do you think they could have exited throught the exhaust. But after 8 hours I replaced it and have the job finished and driveable. Did alot for the car. It actually idles now and its quiet. lol So what you guys think.

PS. Always wear saftey glasses when grinding. Or you will get a piece of metal lodged into your i ball.

Hey man those screws are so tiny, they most likely never even slowed down on their way through the engine. I had a 10mm nut from the top of my Civic carb, drop into one of the carb barrels, well after running the engine for a while, we heard it rattleing through the exhaust. By the way, we thought the thing had fallen between two mounts under the intake manifold, well we were wrong. It did minimal damage, and we ran all season with not problems, well until I overreved the thing and blew the head gasket. Good job, and I wouldn't worry about the screws.

Yep sure did. Had to go to the eye doctor used a pick and gouged it out. Then used a q-tip to get it out. Then used a dremel thing on my eyeball to remove the rust stain

I pulled a manifold once before off a car that seemed to run fine. And all the butterfly valves were missing. I mean a couple were still slighty attached but the other two were completely gone. Motor ran fine before and after I put a new intake one
