hood scoop

So i'm pretty bored with my hoodscoopless celica, and since i'm removing small surface rust on the hood anyway i thought i should invest in a hood scoop.

Now, i saw some cool ones @ summitracing, but they're just for looks and don't actually have any function. So i searched locally and found a mercury capri hoodscoop, it's 27"x37" the guy said. Now that's like almost going to cover my whole hood.





I know, they look like squares. :lol:

Any ideas? They probably won't even fit though, haha.. just bored with my plain hood.

p.s. - i dont like the headlight vents, har har har

 

i liked it because it was square, i think the celica gts is a pretty boxy car already.

That scoop looks like its molded from the hood.

 

esraceing is king for the hood. I love that hood... I have been so tempted to look into that, myself. It makes the car look faster... lol You just have to put some mesh behind it, so you don't catch any birds in it... lol

I'll still have to go check it out and see how it would sit on the hood. xd

 

I think that the 4g celica is beautiful... Not too square, and not round and fruity looking... Most cars in the 90s looked like cartoons, to me, anyhow... And cars now, are kind of reverting... If you look at the 7th gen celica, does it not have some reminiscence of the 4g? Look at their lines. I think so anyhow... And they look a hell of a lot better than 6th gens... I really wish they would have done a 7th generation convertible...

Back on the subject of scoops, which is where we were... I think, that if anything, a small square scoop would look nice, but something with subtle round lines, would look beautiful...

 

Yeah, ford really ripped that design off... lol The ford probe was a POS... Anyone who owned one, hated them, and they were a cheapened version of the 4th gen celica. The anal probe, I mean ford anal probe, looked just like that also... An anal probe... Anyone who bought one was anally raped when they got their first tune up bill, or first part replacement...

Something that makes me wonder why people would think the probe looks anything like a 4th gen celica, is that they are slightly higher off the ground, but the body looks like it was squished in a press... Ah, some resemblance, I guess... Also, didn't the probe, not even have a grill? lol :roll:

 

haha, so i went to check it out today.
Ugh, got convinced out of buying it. It would make my car look too..... "muscular" for a car with only 130~hp

It covers about from the window spray nozzles to the head of the lights.

pretty big.

Too much modifications need to be done to form it to my hood, and it's fiberglass so you cant really cut it or the strands start to split.

O well, i should work on my basics first, like my sunroof leak, har har har
