My car is extremely modded and running an ems w/ no emissions equipment on it! I put a hi-flow cat (made to swap out w/ my test pipe) in temporarily and got "Guaranteed to Pass" and a bottle of dry gas in it. Then I drove about 40miles and went to the test center, luckily I new the tester. He put it on the dyno and said it was taking too long and would definitely fail, so he aborted the test w/o charging me. Then while it was still on the dyno, he ran it again and compared my data to my limits. It would have failed! I drove it another 100miles to empty the tank, filled it up and went back. This time after the chemicals had run through the tank I lowered the fuel pressure by 5psi. It PASSED!!!!, with flying colors. It was the last day of my registration too, and I haven't had time to get it done! Now I should only need it one more time and then it will be exempt! (25yrs) WOO HOO! :driving
Congrats! +1. lol I failed multiple times, and my car's totally stock! >_< That GTP stuff didn't work for me.... :sad5 Cali sucks since the only smog exempt cars here are pre-'75... We have Mr. Terminator to thank for that. :aargh
Well I just looked at my emissions test paper and I think since it never passed, the time is shorter. I need to have it tested next October! Hopefully it will pass then with the same technique!
It doesn't smoke, or smell. It is built for racing and NOT street legal at ALL, but I drive it on the street and at the track. It is not my daily driver! That is why I am happy and shocked it passed. EGR system removed, no charcoal canister, and usually no cat! It was tuned by one of the best in the country- Jobe Spetter Jr.! It does goes rich when I flip the activation switch for the Nos.
