do you have sealed headlights? ;).

In that case you have to replace the whole thing or change to H4 headlights...

you probably "unscrewed" the adjusters. you have to take out the black plastic surrounding the headlight (2 screws on each side), then 4 little screws around the lamp itself.

thanks for the fast reply and yes they are sealed i was thinkin if i can get past the seal (by heating up sealant and fishing line it apart) can i just change bulb from there if not what do you suggest for the cheap way?

Put down the tools and walk away.

The amount of time it would take you to split the sealed bulb, replace the filament and reseal the bulb you could of replaced every single light bulb on the car and maybe replaced a clutch. Use a properly sized phillips head screwdriver (#2 I think is the size) and apply firm pressure while turning. Wouldn't hurt to soak in some penetrating oil at the same time.

lol thanks 4thgenceli your right. i got a quote from autozone for 100$!!! for headlight assembly so F that i found a website and they only want 26 change for the assembly so ima do that. thanks for the help with a problem that shouldent have been a problem but i would of never of guess to change whole thing every car ive ever had you just change bulb but my celi is special. My next post will be of my celi with 280z rims so stay tuned

every car with flip up lights or rectangular lights you have to replace the whole thing. almost all the cars in the 1980s had this. the 280z you speak of also has to replace the whole thing as well.

you need to look for h6054 sealed beams. get some vice grips for the rusted screws. of the 4 screws, you only need two to come undone. my bottom two are stuck and rusted, but the top ones come off. it's enough space to take out the lights if you get at least two off.

280z rims are 4x114.3 and our celicas are either 4x100 or 5x100. good luck finding a way to put them on, but i hope you do it properly.

our (euro spec) 4th gens all came with H4 bulb units. You can buy clear ones on ebay as well, cheaper then 100 usd :). They should fit right in. I think only US got those sealed ones.
